More Easter fun.

Becca and I went to visit my parents this past Sunday for Easter lunch and an egg hunt. We ate lots of delicious food, including lamb chops, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, salad, and of course lots of candy and cake. After lunch we headed outside to have an Easter egg hunt with the kids. I am not sure what was more fun though, us hiding the eggs or watching Harry and Marilla find them. We spent the rest of the day exploring back in the woods, discussing food and tech stuff, and just enjoying each others company. I hope you all had a fun holiday too!

Saw this guy on a walk we took. They were hidden in the pots. The alpacas wanted to help.Sneaky satellite dish. There was a ton of candy. 48 eggs. Was a rough day for Marilla.

Easter eggsplosion!

Easter easily became one of my favorite times of the year since Becca came into my life, and this year was no exception.  We went to her parent’s house to decorate cookies, dye eggs, paint blown eggs, and build crazy sugar eggs.  This year we painted the cookies instead of just frosting them and it was also our first Easter as husband and wife.  Super awesome!  Next weekend we are heading to my parents for an Easter feast of which I will also have to take pictures.  I hope you all have a great Easter this weekend!

The scene was set for another delicious Easter.Hippity hoppity!Eggs from past Easter fun.Sometime I will attempt to eat one for fun.Their idea of Easter lilies is a little off. That must be one trippy chicken. She is so darn cute.See if you can find the amoeba cookie. The whole family gets involved. One of my favorite cookies this year.

Post-o-rama!

The past well… 6 months, have been very sparse in updates (a.k.a. none) and I intend to rectify that today a bit. To start things off, I got a job in Perrysburg back in March at a small website company. Because of this job I was able to move in with Becca and Sam here in Perrysburg. Many fun times were had cooking, hanging out on weekends, and going to the studio to work on Becca’s posters. We ate at a restaurant called Zingo’s a lot and practically used it as a meeting spot after work. Still we were not completely content. Our family seemed incomplete and the place we were living was not quite a “home”.

It was because of this that we started looking for a new place to live and also adopted a new member of the family. A small blackish gray tiger cat named Oliver Teagan Talouse. He was, and still is quite the handful, albeit a much larger handful now that he is bigger. Around this time I began to tire of my job and needed to find some place new… a place where management actually took the time to understand what their employees did, and I don’t know… paid them more. I got this call from a very nice guy that worked for a company called Toltest in Maumee Ohio. I could not pass it up. Finally I work in a place where I feel like part of a team instead of just a cog in a machine. Everyone here is very nice and extremely supportive. I even have an office with a window now! I work on designing and developing the user interfaces for all the web applications the company uses internally, as well as working on the public website and public web applications. Because Becca and I were looking for a new place to live Sam started hunting around as well. She found a nice, new loft apartment above some stores downtown and moved out. With one less person in the apartment and an extra room, Becca and I began molding it in to a place that felt a tad more hospitable. Becca was also done at the studio in BG, so we decided to give it up and attempted to rebuild Sam’s old room into a work place.

Becca and I have been trying to spend as much time with our families as we can lately. She finished up her posters so she has a bit more free time to do other things; but my new job makes it a bit harder to get out on weekends. Still we have managed to go kayaking, celebrate the 4th, go to fairs and baseball games, help with a 5k run, go to the parks, play with alpaca babies, and watch the Olympics (grats to Michael Phelps!) with our families. Yet our families have yet to meet each other. Hopefully we can take care of that soon.

Well, that is about it for now. I have to get going, but I will be back soon with more updates and even more pictures. I hope you like the pictures below from some of our random times over the past few months.

December part 2.

Yes folks, December and the Holiday season officially ended for me on the 5th of January at my Uncle Todd and Aunt Rita’s place for the now traditional Robert’s family delayed Christmas. It has been quite the run the past month.

Becca and I gave each other our presents, which was a blast. ( so many fun things to play with) I also got to visit with Becca’s family twice for the holidays. Once for decorating cookies, clear toys, and other treats; and the other time for a wonderful Christmas with extended family. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality, I felt like I was really part of the family! Then we celebrated Christmas here with my family. Much bonding took place. :P

Becca and I also made sushi quite a few times over the past month and are getting damn good at it now. The pictures are from our first roll we ever made. Didier, Rachel, and Jes came to visit us from California. It was a great time laughing, joking, and exchanging gifts with them. We all made sushi as a big family that night as well!

Now it is back to the studio, applying for jobs, working on portfolios, and building websites. Though this weekend we are off to Pittsburgh to visit friends. I can’t wait to see what the coming months hold! I’ll be sure to keep you up to date. Happy New Year!

December part 1.

Well the time is finally here again. Mid November until a few days past New Years is my absolute favorite time of year. This year has been one of the best ever. From Becca’s birthday, Thanksgiving, and up to my birthday (with delicious Jessie cake) it has been non stop good times. Also over this time I got to meet Becca’s family (more coming up in December part 2), attend my first theatrical experience (Nutcracker), fun cooking times, and lots of time with family and friends.

I also want to wish Dustin the best of luck out in California, and I look forward to seeing Didier, Rach and Jes in December part 2. Thanks to everyone who is making this such a wonderful time. I hope to see more of my family in the next coming weeks, don’t be a stranger!
