Jellybeans and Staples.

So yea just when you think things are going well and you are getting back into a routine… Bam!  Something big happens.  For me it was a giant gall stone that formed in my gall bladder.  The pain was so bad that I had my mom drive me to the ER a week ago at 1 in the morning, and I was getting cut by noon the same day.  All in all it was an unpleasant experience and now I am lacking another useless organ. (Tonsils were gone when I was 6… I’m coming for you appendix!)  The worst of it was when they gave me morphine before knowing what was causing the pain.  They then told me later that morphine actually causes the gall bladder to contract, in essence doubling the pain instead of getting rid of it.  Also I was told the pain of a large gall stone like mine was comparable to child birth.  So considering the morphine’s pain doubling properties I like to think I had twins. :P Anywho all is well and I will be getting my staples out today and receiving the gall stone to examine, so that should be entertaining.

In other news my brother Tyson and his fiance Jessie are having a kid and went in for their ultrasound.  We are not sure of the sex yet so we are just referring to it as “The Jellybean.”  Also included is a picture of their current child Marilla.  She came to visit me before my surgery and helped me get through it just by seeing her face.  I also wanted to thank my family and friends for being there for me.  (Thanks again for the bear, Amy)  Anyway hopefully things will be back to normal soon and I can get some work done and posted. Triumph & Tragedy

First off I would like to extend my thoughts and well wishes to the friends and family of today’s horrible events at Virginia Tech.  I am very sorry that this kind of thing continues to happen and I hope that this does not start some new trend.  Again, you are all in my thoughts.

On a lighter note, I finally have my computer up and running without any kinks.  I made some final renders of a few of my latest projects which can be found under the 3D Work section.  I have also been working on a website for my former highschool art teacher Mr. Heaton.  I am having a lot of fun with it and I hope it turns out to be something they really enjoy.  More updates will be coming soon as I start to finish up my current projects and demo reel. New Computer!
Saturday, February 24th, 2007 under Seth News. [ Comments: none ]

Well ladies and gents, my 6 year old computer finally kicked the bucket last week. The bad news is that it is pretty much totaled and it has set me back about a week and a half. The good news however is that I bought an all new computer that I am building myself. It is godlike :P . Somewhere around the regions of being about 10x faster than my old PC, which is saying a lot considering that thing ran well for what I needed. So now I will be kicking some serious butt. The parts should all be here on Monday. I can’t wait! It is like super Christmas! Signature

Packer Creek Pottery.

The past couple weeks I have been working on not only my artwork, but a business website as well. Working alongside my brother and his fiancé to create a website for their workplace has been a lot of fun. The thought behind the project was to make a simple and easy to use marketplace for selling the company’s pottery. I also needed to make it efficient, easy to operate and of course easy to update for people who did not know their way around html and css. It was fun teaching them how to use and update the site and we feel that this new site will make it much easier for them to reach markets that were not open to them before. Plus it is exciting that it has only been up for two days and people are already ordering. We are adding more products in the near future, so feel free to check it out or even do some shopping! More Works in Progress!
Thursday, January 25th, 2007 under 3d Art. [ Comments: 1 ]

So maybe I have been starting too many new projects as of late, but I just can’t help it. I get excited when I think of an idea. Anyway, here are some more works in progress. The first is a Metroid I am working on. The grayscale images are of the high res models and the color one is the in game model and texture I derived from the high poly model. The next image is of a turtle I am working on, which is stylized after Verne from the movie Over the Hedge. He was one of my favorite designs for a character so I thought it would be fun to emulate the design and see what I could come up with. I will have more updates soon! Signature
