Marilla’s Halloween Spectacular!

Tonight was Marilla’s first Halloween on the mean streets of Perrysburg. Jessie made her costume last night and I have to say it looked amazing. The entire night I could not stop myself from laughing at how funny Marilla looked waddling up to the houses and saying “Trick or Treat” and “Happy Halloween.” She was very good with her “Thank You” as well. Here are some pictures from the evening’s festivities.

Marilla was not to sure about Halloween at first. We convinced her it would be a good time. She got some pretty awesome candy that day.Was a lot of fun going out on Trick or Treat with Tyson's family. After a few houses she was getting the idea.I think she must have eaten like a half a pound of candy.

Stuffed animal goodness!

This past weekend was a time of creativity and discovery. Finding that I am not too horrible at sewing, thanks to the ever so wonderful Becca, we decided to make some fun stuffed animals. I wanted to make my upcoming nephew Harry something to greet him into the world. We then found some fun ideas on the Shawnimals website for our initial designs and got sewing! Below are the results of our efforts. The first pic is the pair we made for the little Geib kids. The left one was made by me, thanks to Becca’s help, and belongs to Harry. The one on the right was made by Becca and belongs to Marilla, who lovingly named it Afghan Puck. The second picture shows a kidney bean shaped one I made (we call him Bean), Becca’s little four-eyed ghosty, and her owls she made previously. We can’t wait to make more!

We later gave these guys to Tyson's kids. These guys are staying with us.

Lollipop Pottery.

My brother and his wife have recently started up their own pottery company and seem to be having a blast. I thought I would share with you one of the mugs that they made. I am now using this mug to drink everything from. Marilla was also excited to see the unofficial release of their first batch of mugs.

Weddingtastic!

Congrats to Rachel and Didier on their marriage and I wish you both the best.  I spent a good 5 days hanging out with Didier’s and Rach’s family for the wedding and had an absolute blast.  It was good to meet Didier’s brother Philippe finally, and it was really good to see Cameron again. (good luck in Africa!)  Much drinking, eating, and dancing was done.  All in all a quality weekend and a great way to recover from surgery :P .  Also Tyson and Jessie’s wedding will be coming up in two weeks which should be quite the event.  Hope to see many of you there!  As far as work goes, I finally have ZBrush3 pretty much nailed down, so some new work should be coming very soon.  Also been busy building websites and starting back up some photography, so I might have some of that up soon as well.  Take care!

Didier and Rachel are awesome. We got to pose in front of a waterfall... pretty cool.

Jellybeans and staples.

So yea just when you think things are going well and you are getting back into a routine… Bam!  Something big happens.  For me it was a giant gall stone that formed in my gall bladder.  The pain was so bad that I had my mom drive me to the ER a week ago at 1 in the morning, and I was getting cut by noon the same day.  All in all it was an unpleasant experience and now I am lacking another useless organ. (Tonsils were gone when I was 6… I’m coming for you appendix!)  The worst of it was when they gave me morphine before knowing what was causing the pain.  They then told me later that morphine actually causes the gall bladder to contract, in essence doubling the pain instead of getting rid of it.  Also I was told the pain of a large gall stone like mine was comparable to child birth.  So considering the morphine’s pain doubling properties I like to think I had twins. :P Anywho all is well and I will be getting my staples out today and receiving the gall stone to examine, so that should be entertaining.

In other news my brother Tyson and his fiance Jessie are having a kid and went in for their ultrasound.  We are not sure of the sex yet so we are just referring to it as “The Jellybean.”  Also included is a picture of their current child Marilla.  She came to visit me before my surgery and helped me get through it just by seeing her face.  I also wanted to thank my family and friends for being there for me.  (Thanks again for the bear, Amy)  Anyway hopefully things will be back to normal soon and I can get some work done and posted.

Not as painful as it looks... just itchy.Little Harry as a small jellybean fetus.Marilla loves her new tricycle.
